sunrays

after many month of not eating a ton of white flour/white sugar, I ate A TON yesterday and now i feel like junk. Though i hesitate to say it was b/c of the million of simply awesome christmas cookies we made yesterday. I suspect it has way more to do with my pretty high stress level. Though, sort of self-induced stress, since I am on really good track for my big client report due at the end of the month. but the christmas holiday plus the fact that my office is closed for the last week of the month (though, hahahaha, that does not mean i won’t be working a bit) put some pressure from that end.

We went to the Zoo Lights. VERY cool. There was a model train in the visitor’s center, and christmas lights everywhere. it was chilly, but not unbearably cold. The apes in the ape house were like WHO are all these people watching me try to sleep (since the zoo usually closes at 4.30). We mainly saw lots of lights, and people in animal costumes dancing in snow globes. and smelled funnel cake. and tried to manage the fact that it opened at 5, so it was a “late” night out for the kids. We passed over the funnel cake (see christmas cookies), and went to chicken out for dinner. and fun was had by all.

today we are going recover b/c my poor back is not used to carrying my kids all over creation like we did last night (note to self, for late, cold event at zoo, bring strollers). and have a nice good run to try to counter act the christmas cookies.

Liam has really started talking up a storm in the past coupe of months. he’s in the narration of everything stage…and not just the yelling of Firetruck! Bus! Dad! Bus! in the car, but also long sentences of what he or someone else is doing.

At work, a coworker did a big clean out of the “file room” and she found this party mate bowling game:

She put it on the for anyone to take table, and i immediately snatched it up for my memories. my kids found it and have been enjoying it since. so funny!

p.s. – that is the neighbor’s car in the last post’s picture…leave it chris to recognize a car from like 2 inches of picture. : )
p.p.s. since cryptic comments on blogs seem to be all the rage – got something in the mail this week, and now really expecting pigs to fly by my window.

work=busy

work=busy until the end of march

current me rolling my eyes at me a couple of weeks ago of being afraid of not having things to do at work.

also. doing such.cool.things at work. though. busy. crazy busy.

my kids are great. they are loving christmas season. i love having kids with christmas season. the gingerbread house decorating. the cookie making. the santa talking about.

hello neglected blog.

first things first. i read this and now i am a much different runner. I think that is mostly that before I was rolling through my foot and would sometimes catch my toe, so I was afraid to go too fast. but now i focus on running through my forefoot and now i got so fast. i took 5% my time/mile. but also, i have a lot more energy through out my run. I am SO HAPPY.

work is crazy. i have way too much responsibility and way too little guidance. however, it is a stretch, but a good stretch. it has been trying to have so little guidance, but, as just commented to ben, i will be so much happier in this job in a year than i would be in a very prescribed job. i actually love my job though it realllllly stretches me. but i am a rock star.
